Welcome to the official website of the American Haflinger Registry (AHR).This site is intended to provide information and answer questions on the beautiful and versatile Haflinger horse, North America's fastest growing horse breed. It also serves as a place where members of the registry can find forms and get updated information.

Benefits of Membership


AHR participates in the USDF All breeds program. Participants must be current AHR members to receive Haflinger breed awards.
The World Haflinger Federation breed standard is the authority defining the characteristics of the Haflinger, including color, and states that significant white leg markings are discouraged and white body markings are not acceptable.  In short, there is no such thing as a spotted Haflinger. Crossbreds should be designated as such.

The 2012 AHR National Show Entry forms are posted to the show page!
There will be one Inspection site for 2012. The date is June 29th, 2012 at the Ohio Ashland County Fairgrounds. See the I&C page for info and application.

At the Pennsylvania Horse World Expo to represent the Keystone Haflinger Association in the Parade of Breeds, 6 yr old gelding, ALWAYS ALERT GVS (aka "Ollie") and his rider, Chelsea Deephouse, were invited to ride and work with nationally known cowboy clinicians, Craig Cameron and Stuart Rybak. The first day was on Riding Patterns to improve your seat and your horse.  This link is the first of 7 patterns that Craig Cameron had them working on. The 2011 Points & Awards Champions are Driving: Susan Mallery & Sweet Desire VVHF with Reserve Chuck Hendershot and Rhoda Mae DTA. It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Joel Greenisen on December 2nd, 2011. Joel was instrumental in the formation of the AHR, served as Board President for many years and was an AHR Inspection judge. Our sincere condolences to the Greenisen family. (Obituary)
The Recreation Points & Awards Program has expanded award levels which now include Hour awards at 500, 750, 1000, 1750, 2500 and 5000.

The Haflinger Breeders Organization no longer exists as a Registry in the US. Please contact the AHR office staff for information on submitting HBO pedigrees for re-issue with AHR.
