AHR Forms Description
Application for Membership 2010
Complete this form for a new or renewal of your membership. Membership
becomes due on January 1 of each year.
Application for Lease
This form should be completed when leasing a horse for the purpose of showing or when leasing a mare for the purpose of breeding
Application
for Registration
These forms should be completed when registering a new foal. Remember, every foal
must be registered WITHIN the year of its birth. If born in 1998, the
foal must be registered prior to 12/31/98--not prior to its first calendar
birthday. All foals must be out of registered mares and stallions 3years
old or older at the time of breeding (January 1 universal birth date).
NAME--select a name for your new foal, following the naming procedure
of using the first letter of the sire's name if a stud colt or the first
letter of the dam's name if a filly. Add your farm suffix if you wish.
The complete name should add up to no more than 26 letters and spaces.
If you do not use a suffix, give a second choice of name.
Application
for Stallion License
A Stallion License Application must be completed prior to the issuing
of a stallion license. This form is returned to the AHR office--it is
not sent in with the DNA sample. Note that the top half is completed
by the stallion owner, and the bottom half is completed by the veterinarian
examining the stallion. Stallions must be two years old prior to the
examination. All stallions used for breeding must be DNA tested and examined
in order to be licensed. Have your vet examine
the horse and complete the bottom portion of the Stallion License Application.
Return the Stallion License Application to the AHR office. Pull the hair
and attach it to the DNA form and send it to theAHR Office
as instructed on the form. When the results of the DNA testing are returned
from the lab, a license will be issued and sent
to you. If you have had your stallion licensed in either HAA or HRNA
and his vet inspection is on file at the AHR office, you do not have
to have another vet inspection. However, if your stallion has not been
DNA tested, this must be accomplished prior to registering foals for
2004 and beyond.
Application
for Transfer
This form should be returned to the registry by the seller within 30
days of a sale. Seller should also include the Original Pedigree and
a check for the appropriate fee. If the transfer is for a licensed stallion,
the original stallion license should be included as well. This form and
the original pedigree must not be handed to the new owner as the new
owner's name must be added to the back of the original pedigree. Do not
sign the back of the pedigree. As the seller of a registered
Haflinger, completing the transfer promptly is your responsibility. It
also protects you so that the ownership passes to the new owner (after
you have been paid.)

Certificate
of Breeding
A breeding certificate must accompany each foal registration, even when
you ownthe foal's sire. This is a new form for many members; look at
it carefully. Please fill in every blank. If you own both stallion and
mare, you may write "Same"to avoid completing identical information
for each.
DNA testing Forms - DNA testing
is required for all presently licensed Stallions still alive
and breeding, all Stallions being newly licensed for breeding,
and all breeding mares. Foals applying for registration as follows:
all fillies, all shipped semen AI foals (except geldings unless
the result of frozen semen) and any other horses regardless of
sex or age that owners choose to DNA voluntarily. Haflingers

must be DNA tested and a copy of the DNA test results sent with
their I&C application form prior to the inspection. DNA forms
are ordered from the AHR office.

Stallion License Renewal Form - Licensed stallions owners must renew stallion breeding licenses annually in order to register offspring. Submit renewals no later than October 25 each year in order to be included in the list of licensed breeding stallions printed in the Dec/Jan Stallion Edition of Haflinger Horse
Suffix Registration
If you have not registered a farm suffix prior to April 21, 1998, you
may do so by sending your check of $50 to AHR with your farm suffix choice.
If the suffix you have chosen is not taken, it will become yours. If
it has already been chosen, you will be informed and given a chance to
select another suffix. We will be eliminating duplicate suffix designation.
Our plan is to allow the first person (by checking the date first used)
to use a suffix the right to continue with that suffix. Anyone else who
has used a duplicate will be given a chance to select a new one.
